Are flu and COVID-19 vaccines really free?
Yes. They're publicly funded for anyone who lives, works or goes to school in Ontario. Priority groups (like adults 65+ and people with chronic conditions) can get them now; from October 26 they're open to everyone. Bring your health card if you have one.
Can I get flu and COVID-19 at the same visit?
Yes — it's safe to get both together, one in each arm. Choose “Flu + COVID-19 together” so we hold enough time.
Do I need a prescription?
Not for flu or COVID-19. For shingles, HPV, RSV, pneumonia and travel vaccines it depends on the vaccine and your coverage — tell us what you have when you book and the pharmacist will confirm before your visit.
What does the shingles vaccine cost?
Shingrix is free in Ontario for adults aged 65 to 70. Outside that range many drug plans cover it; otherwise it's paid privately. We'll check your coverage for you.
Can you vaccinate my child?
Pharmacies can give the flu shot from age 2. For other vaccines, each card shows the minimum age we book online. For younger children, your doctor or public health unit can help — or call us and we'll point you in the right direction.
What side effects should I expect?
A sore arm, tiredness or a mild fever for a day or two are common and normal. You'll wait with us for 15 minutes after your shot. If you have trouble breathing or swelling of the face after leaving, call 911.
