Questions patients ask us

Still unsure whether we can help? Ask — that's what we're here for.

Talk to a pharmacistMon–Fri 9–6 · Sat 9–12

Is it free?

Yes — the assessment is covered by OHIP for anyone with a valid Ontario health card. If you don't have OHIP, call us first and we'll explain the fee. Any medication prescribed is paid for the way your prescriptions normally are (drug plan, ODB, or out of pocket).

Will I definitely get a prescription?

Not always — and that's a good thing. The pharmacist will assess you and prescribe only if it's safe and appropriate. Sometimes an over-the-counter option or self-care advice is the better answer, and sometimes you'll be referred to a doctor. Either way, you'll leave knowing what to do.

What should I bring?

Your Ontario health card, a list of medications you take (or the bottles), and anything relevant — a photo of the rash if it comes and goes, or the tick in a sealed bag. If you're booking for your child, bring their health card.

Can I do it by phone or video?

For many conditions, yes. A few (like pink eye, impetigo, ringworm or warts) need to be seen in person so the pharmacist can look. The booking form only offers the visit types that are suitable for your condition.

Can you see my child?

Yes for most conditions. Each condition shows the minimum age we can book online; for younger children, call us and a pharmacist will advise — often we can still help.

Does my family doctor find out?

Yes. Ontario pharmacists are required to notify your primary care provider when they prescribe, so your records stay complete. Add your doctor's name when you book and we'll handle it.

Don't wait it out. Get it looked at today.

Pick your condition and a time — or call and a pharmacist will help you decide.
